5 Effective ways to prevent the Corona Virus from being infected
Coronavirus has attacked thousands of people in different countries and swallowed hundreds of casualties. In order not to be exposed to these infectious diseases, there are several ways that can be done to prevent the transmission of Corona viruses.
The cause of this plague is a new type of coronavirus called coronavirus novel 2019 (2019-nCoV). This disease belongs to the same virus as the viral causes severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle-East respiratory syndrome (MERS).
The cause of this plague is a new type of coronavirus called coronavirus novel 2019 (2019-nCoV). This disease belongs to the same virus as the viral causes severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle-East respiratory syndrome (MERS).
Corona virus infection called COVID-19 was first occurred in the city of Wuhan, China and has now been found in many countries, including Indonesia.
Steps preventing the transmission of Corona Virus
The Virus is thought to be derived from animals, such as bats and camels, and can be transmitted from animals to humans, as well as from humans to humans. Human transmission is most likely through a splash of phlegm when coughing or sneezing.
When infected with Corona viruses, one will experience flu-like symptoms, such as fever, cough, and colds. However, a few days later, people infected with Corona virus infection may experience shortness of breath due to infection in the lungs.
To date, there have been no medications that can cure Corona virus infections. Therefore, the World Health Organization (WHO) urges people to not take a trivial look at the disease and to carry out preventive measures. One of them is by implementing social distancing.
Some steps can be taken to prevent the Corona virus infection, including:
1. Wash your hands properly
Properly washing your hands is the simplest but most effective way to prevent the spread of the virus 2019-nCoV. Wash hands with flowing water and soap, for at least 20 seconds. Make sure the entire hand is washed clean, including the back of your hand, wrists, fingers and nails. Afterwards, dry the hand using a tissue, a clean towel, or a hand dryer machine.
If you are a commuter worker who is in public transport, it will be difficult to find water and soap. You can clean your hands with a hand sanitizer. Use a hand sanitizer product with alcohol content of at least 60% to more effectively eradicate germs.
Wash hands regularly, especially before and after meals, after using the toilet, after touching the animal, removing the garbage, and after coughing or sneezing. A hand wash is also important before breastfeeding a baby or milking.
2. Using a mask
There are two types of masks that you can use to prevent the transmission of Corona virus, which is the surgical mask and mask of N95.
Surgical mask or surgical mask is a commonly used disposable mask. This mask is easy to find, affordable, and comfortable to wear, so that many people use this mask during daily activities.
How to use the correct surgical mask is the colored side of the mask should face out, while the inside of the white side faces the face and covers the chin, nose, and mouth. The white side is made of material that can absorb dirt and filter germs from the air.
While not fully effective at preventing the exposure of germs, the use of this mask can still reduce the risk of spreading infectious diseases, including the Corona virus infection. The use of masks is recommended for people who are sick to prevent the spread of viruses and germs, rather than in healthy people.
While the N95 mask is a type of mask specifically designed to filter out harmful particles in the air. This type of mask is actually more recommended to prevent the Corona virus infection. Nevertheless, this mask is less comfortable to wear everyday and the price is relatively expensive.
When removing the mask from the face, either the surgical mask or the N95 mask, avoid touching the front of the mask, as the part is filled with the germs attached. After removing the mask, wash your hands with soap or hand sanitizer, so that the hands are clean from the germ attached.
3. Maintain endurance
Strong body endurance can prevent the emergence of various diseases. To maintain and improve endurance, you are advised to consume healthy foods, such as vegetables and fruits, and protein foods, such as eggs, fish, and lean meats. If necessary, you also increase the consumption of supplements according to the doctor's advice.
In addition, regular exercise, adequate sleep, no smoking, and not consuming alcoholic beverages can also increase the body's endurance to avoid the transmission of Corona viruses.
4. Do not go to the infected state
Not only China, Corona virus infection is now also a plague to other countries, such as Japan, South Korea, Hongkong, Taiwan, India, United States, and Europe. Corona Virus is also confirmed to be found in neighboring countries of Indonesia, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
In order not to be infected with this virus, you are advised not to travel to places that already have a case of Corona virus infection or potentially be the location of a coronavirus spread.
5. Avoid contact with animals that potentially transmit coronavirus
Coronavirus is a new type allegedly strongly derived from bats and propagated by some mammals and reptile animals. Therefore, avoid contact with these animals
If you want to eat meat or fish, make sure the meat or fish is washed and cooked until thoroughly cooked. Avoid consuming meat or fish that are not fresh or rotten.
If you are experiencing flu symptoms, such as cough, fever, and colds, which are accompanied by weakness and shortness of breath, especially if in the last 2 weeks you travel to China or other countries that already have a case of Corona virus infection, immediately ask A doctor to be assured of the cause and given proper handling.
