Alert, Corona Started Virus Spreading

Starting in 2020, the world was shocked by the discovery of a new illness that originated in Wuhan, China, and began spreading to the nearby country. The spread of Corona viruses grew rapidly and made the World Health Organization (WHO) urged Asian countries, including Indonesia, to always be vigilant.

The disease is caused by a new type coronavirus called Virus 2019-nCoV. According to the last data that the WHO acquired, this disease has caused a fall of casualties, while the other tens are infected still under intensive supervision and care.

Here are some facts about this new illness:

2019-nCoV Virus was identified on 7 January 2020, about a week after the first case appeared in the city of Wuhan, China.

The 2019-nCoV virus is included in the same viral group as the viral causes severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle-East respiratory syndrome (MERS).

Some Thai and Japanese are reportedly infected with the 2019-nCoV virus.

It is not known for sure the origin and means of transmission 2019-nCoV virus. However, this virus is thought to be derived from animals and can be transmitted between humans.

It has not been found the way or the drug as a special management program to handle this condition.

Responding to the situation, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia has tighten RI's entrance lines, such as airports and ports. The Government urged the airport and port to scan the body temperature for each passenger, especially for those coming from the country.

Get to know the symptoms

Corona Virus attacks human respiratory tract. Therefore, people infected with Corona virus infections can experience symptoms that resemble flu-like. Even so, the early symptoms of this mysterious illness are similar to SARS and MERS, namely fever and cough. Some sufferer is also reported to have breathlessness, accompanied by the formation of liquids and infiltrates substances in the lungs.

In some cases, sufferers even experience liver failure and renal failure. However, until now, there have been no specific symptoms that can be used as a reference to identify the disease.

SARS and MERS are the conditions characterized by serious infections of the respiratory tract. Both of these diseases have been plased all over the world and inflicted tremendous fear.

In 2002-2003, there were at least 774 people who died from SARS. While the WHO records the year 2019, states that more than 800 souls died from a MERS.

Although it is caused by viruses of the same group, but the 2019-nCoV virus infection is thought to not spread and cause death as soon as SARS and MERS.

Nevertheless, everyone is still encouraged to make preventive efforts and to consult a physician immediately. However, this mysterious condition can be fatal when not handled quickly and precisely.

Prevent the spread of Corona viruses from now

WHO encourages every country to apply the prohibition of tourism or trade in China. This action is done to prevent the spread of the virus corona progressively worse.

Although there has been no report on the transmission of 2019-nCoV virus in Indonesia, it is important for everyone to take precautions to avoid this virus infection.

The steps mentioned include:

Routinely wash hands with soap before and after activity.

Consumption of nutritious food is balanced and make sure the food to be consumed has been cooked to perfection.

Strengthen the immune system with drinking plenty of water, regular exercise, and adequate rest.

Use masks during activities, especially when outdoors or public facilities.

Avoid insect bites by applying anti-insect lotions or using enclosed clothing.

Have healthy sex, like using condoms while having intercourse and being faithful to one partner.

Limit direct contact with people who are sick.

Avoid traveling to places that could potentially be the location of a virus spread.

Take regular medical checkups to your doctor.

Until now, research continues to be conducted to find out the source, dissemination, and how to treat the virus infection 2019-nCoV. In the meantime, a few steps above can be applied to keep yourself from the risk of being infected with Corona's virus.
